Skills development / Mentorship / Opportunity for growth
We have so many resources and opportunities around us now, we owe it to the grandmothers who had to stop work when they had children, we owe it to the mothers who couldn’t have their name on a mortgage, even if they were married and most importantly, we owe it to ourselves.
I loved playing banks or offices when I was little, instead of dolls with my sisters, and this turned into a burning desire to have my own business as I grew older. My father was a huge influence on me for business, I admired that he was a self-taught engineer. So my inspiration was “if he can do it, so can I”. I have now worked for myself for over 25 years and I LOVE IT!
I get a real kick from helping others grow their business and making sure everyone knows that anything is possible today. We have so many resources at our fingertips today, you‘ve just got to be crazy enough to jump on the ride!
Growing up, my Mum worked extremely hard through tough times and made so many sacrifices to provide for me and my siblings. Therefore, being employed and working hard was always the end goal after finishing school/college.
In my earlier working life becoming my own boss was never a factor. Over the years it was a passing thought without the courage to take the first steps. The pandemic resurrected the thought and now I'm walking.
My aim is to work hard for my family and to help women seeking support taking their first steps. It's a journey!
